Developing Security Policy

A security policy is one of the most important documents of your organisation. It defines your organisation’s assets and your policy of securing them.

Without a policy, you risk overlooking one of your most important assets, and having no clear plan for its protection and/or recovery. If something were to go awry in these circumstances, your company directors may well find themselves open to the charge of failing in their duty of care.

We believe your security policy, which can be relatively simple, is a necessary accompaniment to any security products that you use. It gives authority for security activity and provides every employee with an agreed set of guidelines and protocols. Technical controls and products can be used to enforce the security policy effectively and deliver information assurance.
